We are looking to add dedicated team members to keep the runways at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport clear for departure. In the winter months, this team clears snow from runways, taxiways, roadways, terminals, and public areas. When snow is not falling, Airport Maintenance Workers perform grounds keeping, mowing, trash removal, fence installation, concrete and asphalt repairs, and other duties that keep the airport looking great. Pay Differentials/Incentives $0.60/hour - Class A CDL -OR- $0.40/hour - Forklift Certification $1.25/hour - 2nd Shift $2.00/hour - 3rd Shift Current Shifts Day: Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Afternoon: Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. Night: Sunday - Thursday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m. Weekend Day: Saturday - Wednesday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Weekend Afternoon: Saturday - Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. * Shift assignments are bid twice each calendar year, based on seniority. New employees typically start on the day shift for training before moving to their assigned shift. In addition to competitive hourly wages, workers can also earn overtime and longevity pay. Summary of Duties

Primarily performs maintenance duties to FAA standards, including skilled and semi-skilled work to maintain the airport’s airfields, grounds, and roadway maintenance functions. Work may be in close proximity to aircraft operations. Typical duties include snow and ice control on airfields and in public areas such as roadways and terminals. Other duties include grounds keeping, concrete and asphalt repairs, truck driving, mowing, weeding, fence installation and repair, garbage removal, and general cleanup of the airfield and public areas of the airport. Snow and Ice Removal

Operate snow removal equipment (e.g., multi-function equipment, runway snow blowers, plows and brooms, ramp push plows, tractors, sanders, liquid chemical dispensing vehicles, snow hauling vehicles). Perform manual snow removal duties.

Landscaping/Grounds Keeping

Perform skilled landscaping and grounds keeping duties, including turf management, grading, rut/depression filling, and weed control. Plant, cut, and trim trees, shrubs, and flowering plants; install ornamental landscaping fixtures. Operate diesel-powered tractors with mower attachments, small tractors, riding mowers, and other landscaping equipment.

Bituminous and Concrete Repair

Repair runways, taxiways, aircraft aprons, parking ramps, parking lots, sidewalks, and roadways. Perform joint seal repairs, concrete pours, brick/block work, and provide traffic control at work sites.

Fence, Sign and Gate Construction/Maintenance

Install, repair, and maintain fences, gates, and signage.

General Airport Cleaning

General cleaning of runways, taxiways, aircraft parking areas, and related spaces; operate cleaning equipment.

Environmental Duties

Trash removal, drainage system inspections, storm water control, and spill containment.

General Duties

Operate radios and communicate with air traffic control and airport personnel per FAA regulations; train co-workers; assist trades and contractors; assist with equipment maintenance and parts delivery as needed.

High school diploma or equivalent Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s license (CDL) with airbrake endorsement Satisfactory driving record Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods; lift up to 50 pounds Outdoor work under severe and varying weather conditions Clear communication skills Ability to pass a criminal history and employment background check Ability to pass a physical examination Desirable Requirements

Previous field maintenance or equipment operation experience at MSP or another airport Two years of experience operating commercial-rated vehicles, heavy equipment, and/or large agricultural machinery Snow removal operations experience with various equipment Experience in pavement maintenance (concrete and asphalt) Experience in commercial property, landscaping, or parks maintenance Experience with chemical applications related to grounds keeping
