Overview
Job Title: Quality Inspector Location: Manchester, CT Industry: Aerospace Manufacturing Pay Rate: $30/hour Job Type: Full-Time | 1st Shift Responsibilities
In-Process & Final Inspections: Conduct detailed visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of parts, sub-assemblies, and final products to verify compliance with technical drawings and work instructions. Receiving Inspections: Inspect incoming raw materials, components, and supplier parts to ensure conformance with purchase orders and quality specifications. Precision Measurement: Utilize manual and automated inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines), and Keyence systems to verify part dimensions and tolerances. Documentation & Reporting: Accurately document inspection results, generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), maintain quality records, and ensure proper data entry into Quality Management Systems (QMS). Support Quality Assurance Efforts: Collaborate with Quality Engineers and production teams to identify root causes, support corrective/preventive actions, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Compliance & Standards: Ensure adherence to company procedures, AS9100/ISO 9001 standards, and relevant regulatory guidelines such as FAA requirements. Product Release: Review completed documentation and product status to authorize the release of components or assemblies for further operations or shipment. Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or degree in manufacturing or engineering is a plus. Experience: Minimum of 2 years in quality inspection, preferably in aerospace, aviation, military, or precision manufacturing environments. Technical Proficiency: Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models. Familiar with GD&T practices. Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and regulatory compliance procedures. Exposure to MRB and RCCA processes. Tools: Proficient with a variety of inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, CMMs, and automated vision systems (e.g., Keyence). Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Effective communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to work both independently and within a team environment. Benefits
