Eldor Automotive Powertrain USA is searching for a

Supplier Quality Manager

to join our team at our state‑of‑the‑art, highly automated production facility located in

Daleville, VA . Working in close coordination with the Purchasing Team and the Corporate Quality Team, the role is responsible to ensure a high quality of suppliers, through the qualification and continuous effective supervision of the assigned suppliers in order to maintain a high‑quality level of the purchased parts obtained through continuous improvement.

Main Responsibilities

Works with Engineering and Purchasing team to develop and maintain thorough knowledge of technological developments and trends for guidance of commodity teams in advancements of design, quality, and manufacturing

Assess potential supplier base, support Product Sourcing Strategy and provide leadership in new supplier selection and process development

Plans and manages the process of qualification and auditing (system and process) of new and active suppliers

Together with Purchasing, manage serious supply issues

Works with the supplier to resolve open quality issues and ensures that the problem‑solving process at the supplier is carried out in the manner and time required by Eldor

Evaluate and monitor suppliers, coordinating the data collection process and performance summary through the periodic assessment of appropriate indicators. Assure proper process control standards are in place and continuously monitors key manufacturing processes to ensure consistent quality in Tier 1 &2 supplier base

Conduct assessment in the full VDA6.3 format for a new supplier, and as required on a tri‑annual basis for current suppliers

Product introduction and management. Launch APQP elements with component suppliers

Assign PPAP criteria for individual components, considering Eldor homologation requirements and OEM customer specific instructions

Assist Program Manager with reviewing PPAP status for each component on the BOM

Review PPAP submissions for adequacy, with responsibility for approval and, as needed, follow up

Provide input into Supplier Monitoring Process (scorecard)

Support Eldor Manufacturing Plant in Roanoke VA to ensure component supplier completes root cause/corrective actions for repeat and larger quality issues

Supplier Training and Development

Monitors supplier’s adherence to Process Change Notification on a timely and cost‑effective basis

Manage Incoming Quality Process and Team

Manage the Supplier Quality Agreements with local suppliers

Ability to travel up to 50% of time

Working knowledge of IATF16949

Qualifications/Certifications

Certified IATF16949 lead auditor

Experience in the following component types: Metal stamping, silicon rubber molding, electronics assembly, wire drawing, and raw material compounding

Working knowledge of SAP, Process FMEA, statistical tools

Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and knowledge of Measurement Devices

Technical Knowledge and Skills

Quality standards in the Automotive sector ISO 9001:2015; IATF; VDA and management systems for the environment 14001-fundamentals, APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning and Control Plan), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)

Management of the production approval process of series Design FMEA, Process FMEA Supplier Auditing Techniques, in accordance with customer‑specific requirements

Knowledge/Reading of Technical Drawings/Prints

Knowledge of the product/process requiredIATF knowledge, Automotive process management and risk‑based thinking*

IATF core tools (APQP, MSA, SPC, FMEA, PPAP)

Audit skills (IATF certification)

Audit skills (VDA 6.3 - certification) *

Technical drawing understanding

Technical development capabilities

CQI 17 – soldering (keep only CQI, the “number” it depends by the category, mech, PCBA, rubber.)

VDA 19 or ISO 16232
