Project Manager, Substation. Energy team at David Evans and Associates, Inc. provides infrastructure solutions for power delivery and renewable energy with planning and design for low- to high-voltage facilities. Our services meet technical, financial, environmental, and political needs of clients, supporting current infrastructure enhancements or new energy projects to deliver a more resilient future. This is a remote-friendly position with a preference for candidates based near one of our offices in Portland, OR; Corvallis, OR; Bend, OR; Seattle, WA; Tacoma, WA; Denver, CO; or Boise, ID. What You’ll Do - Key Responsibilities
Provide high-level technical leadership, project management, and client management for substation projects up to 500 kV. Develop project approach and/or execute project execution plans. Develop project staffing plans, participate in workload planning, help manage backlog, and inform staffing decisions. Delegate project tasks, provide technical guidance to team members. Collaborate with project engineers, designers, technicians, and other project managers on multidisciplinary teams. Lead or coordinate QA/QC processes for substation projects. Act as a seller/doer, build long-term relationships with clients through clear communication and delivery of excellent work products. Directly manage projects and support staff in scoping, budgeting, contract negotiations, and execution. Mentor engineers, designers, and other staff. Some travel may be required. What You Bring - Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or closely related field) from an accredited college. 5+ years of experience with substation design. 3+ years of experience as a project manager or engineering manager. Experience with all aspects of substation design, including physical, relaying, and studies. Professional Engineer (PE) license. Proficient with Microsoft Office; ability to write and communicate clearly; good verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college. Experience managing projects and teams for an electrical consultant. Experience building substations for utility-scale renewable generation and working with renewable owners/developers as well as contractors in the design-build space. What We Offer
