Responsibilities
Provide import/export regulatory direction for internal and external customers.
Research, analyze, and support the development and implementation of effective compliance policies and procedures.
Apply existing rules and regulations to company processes to ensure compliance, including preparation and submission of required filings and reporting documentation.
Deliver strategic guidance and education to management and staff on import/export compliance issues.
Maintain accurate TARIFF classifications and Country of Origin for a broad assortment of products, components, and spare parts.
Establish and maintain Export Control Commodity Numbers (ECCN) for current material.
Provide data to customs broker to ensure timely and accurate entry filing and customs clearance.
Maintain complete record‑keeping documentation and audit completed customs entries as per the Customs Improvement Plan.
Work with customs brokers on clearance issues and coordinate shipping activities to ensure compliance with governmental requirements.
Serve as a channel for resolution on compliance issues, including stopping orders or shipments if concerns are not reconciled.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to adapt to changing government regulations and recommend policy updates.
Strong knowledge of government regulations and compliance, including PGA, international logistics, customs documentation, and shipping procedures.
Attention to detail in identifying parts, machines, and components for accurate classification.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to produce error‑free documents and train personnel at all levels.
Capability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships across cultures.
Knowledge of SAP ERP system (strongly desired).
Experience supporting internal and external customers in a Shared Services environment with various ERP systems.
What You Need To Succeed
HTS classification experience required.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or related field and at least 8 years of experience in import and export control.
Customs Brokerage license is a plus.
