Job Summary Middle Georgia State University is seeking candidates for a part-time Student Assistant to be a Supplemental Instructor (SI) Leader or an Embedded Tutor (ET) in the Student Success Center. Responsibilities

Supplemental Instructor (SI) Leader Attend class lectures of historically difficult courses as a model student, build rapport with students, and plan SI weekly collaborative review sessions. Help students reinforce knowledge from class lectures and assignments and offer strategies to integrate “how to learn” with “what to learn.” Meet with the faculty member on a regular basis and attend SSC training. Maintain accurate records and maintain FERPA compliance. Embedded Tutor (ET) Assist faculty with in-class support, primarily for Corequisite Math and English courses. Some attendance at Corequisite lectures may be required. Meet with the faculty member on a regular basis and attend SSC training. Maintain accurate records and maintain FERPA compliance. Required Qualifications

Must be a currently enrolled Middle Georgia State University student. Must be enrolled in 6 or more semester hours per semester. Must have a GPA of 3.00 or greater. Grade of A or B in the SI course, taken either at MGA or transfer institution. Recommendation from faculty on campus. Exhibited course content-competency (to be determined by academic transcript and the faculty submitting the recommendation form). Effective interpersonal and communication skills (to be determined by the SI Staff throughout the application/interview processes). Strong commitment to public service. Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member. Preferred Qualifications
