Base pay range $18.00/hr - $18.50/hr

Job Overview Ross, a leading off‑price retail chain, seeks an Area Supervisor to oversee a specific store area and act as Manager on Duty when necessary. The successful candidate will drive a safe, efficient, and customer‑focused environment while supporting associate development.

General Purpose The Area Supervisor is a member of Store Leadership responsible for the opening & closing of the Store, supervising Associates, maintaining product presentation, and supporting Company operational processes.

Essential Functions Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments

Prioritize safety in all actions.

Maintain high awareness on the sales floor; correct or report unsafe conditions.

Secure the building, manage entrance/exit control, EAS checks, cash office, and register area.

Ensure clear egress to emergency exits and test fire alarm systems.

Respond to after‑hours alarms when requested.

Customer Service

Treat all Customers and Associates with respect and professionalism.

Recognize Associates using Company recognition programs.

Personal and Store Brand

Represent and support the Company brand consistently.

Maintain professional appearance and enforce Dress Code.

Keep all areas clean, well‑maintained, and merchandised.

Handle daily trash removal.

General Merchandising

Ensure recovery, sizing, & markdowns follow Company standards.

Receive merchandise trucks and non‑merchandise deliveries.

Process all merchandise promptly and keep stockrooms organized.

Assist with floor moves, signage, and promotional activities.

Loss Prevention

Follow Loss Prevention Awareness Program and maintain a strong customer presence on the sales floor.

Safeguard confidential & cash information; maintain PVM system.

Conduct “code” package inspections and apply best practices.

Front End Supervision and Operations

Ensure Associates meet front‑end standards and maintain pace.

Train and coach on cash registers, shortage controls, and front‑end procedures.

Schedule break times and ensure equipment operation.

Oversee go‑backs, tagging, and security processes.

Fitting Rooms

Maintain cleanliness and audit tags.

Ensure proper go‑back compliance.

Administrative Duties as Assigned by Store Manager

Manage cash pulls, bank deposits, refunds, and payroll administration.

Adhere to all related policies and procedures.

Perform additional duties as directed.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required

Excellent verbal communication skills.

Fluency in English.

Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.

Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications.

Basic mathematical calculations.

Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements / ADA Must use all store equipment, stand, walk, and move around 100% of working time; regularly bend, kneel, lift, push, or pull recall items; occasional lifting over 25 lbs.
