Enjoy working outdoors? ACRT Pacific is seeking energetic entry‑level professionals who enjoy working outdoors. This is a full‑time opportunity for individuals looking to gain Forestry experience. Vegetation Management Inspectors (VMIs) are ideal for professionals with an educational background in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, biology, environmental studies, conservation, or related disciplines. VMIs patrol for hazard trees, perform identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines, and assist in submitting inspection results with recommendations. They plan, direct, and coordinate tree‑clearance crews, manage crew access issues, and serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and client customers. Certified ISA Arborists or those in the process of achieving certification are required. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Grass Valley, CA. This position is designated as a safety‑sensitive role. Duties & Responsibilities

Perform circuit patrols according to the annual Vegetation Management (VM) plan. Identify required tree work along the existing PG&E rights‑of‑way, prescribe work, and document inspections. Ensure inspections meet applicable standards. Notify property owners/agencies of scheduled tree work and obtain necessary authorizations. Act as VM contact for new business and re‑construction work requested by the energy delivery organization. Perform work verification inspections to confirm inspection and tree work completion. Investigate and document tree‑related outages; attend outage meetings as requested. Track non‑routine locations from EC/LC notifications, Gas OCW notifications, and CC&B cases; assist in closing CC&B cases. Support emergency response—dispatch tree crews, field check sites, and coordinate first‑responder agreements. Complete tasks assigned by the supervisor independently. Support oversight of vegetation projects, including tree assessment, trimming, and other required work. Participate in contractor safety and tailboard meetings. Act as a customer relations representative on behalf of PG&E. Coordinate between contractors, communities, agencies, first responders, and all PG&E workgroups. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations (permitting, traffic control, railroad, Caltrans, environmental protection). Maintain proficiency with electronic devices and documentation; complete electronic and paper‑based reporting. Basic Responsibilities

Patrol distribution or transmission circuits and prescribe work for PG&E’s tree contractor to meet one‑year minimum clearance compliance. Determine required trims or removals, assessing trees that could strike facilities. Prescribe required tree pruning and removal work to complete compliance tags (e.g., 540 tags) and PG&E Vegetation Management standards. Notifying property owners of prescribed work and mapping circuits using PG&E continuity lists. Manage EC notifications and outbreak investigations; obtain permits and document work in VMDSR or other databases. Use computers and associated software to enter and process data. Fulfill emergency response duties per safety requirements and applicable agreements. Maintain direct contact with PG&E division personnel, public agencies, and customers. Demonstrate ACRT’s Guiding Principles and perform other duties as assigned. Equipment, Environmental and Safety Requirements

Driving vehicles, forklifts, and related equipment. Walking on uneven ground; exposed to noise, temperature extremes, humidity, wetness, dust, gas, fumes, and chemicals. Operating foot controls or repetitive foot movement. Handling forestry‑related equipment (clinometer, range finder, logger’s tape, DBH tape) and personal safety gear (hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses). Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. Class C driver’s license. 1 year experience as a VMI or equivalent utility contract. Active ISA Arborist certification (required). Preferred Qualifications

2‑year or 4‑year college degree in a related field. Location & Travel
