Front Desk Coordinator
GI Alliance is seeking an experienced Front Desk Coordinator. The position supports the office manager and providers by handling all front‑desk functions.
Position Purpose Provides clerical support and patient interaction in a medical office setting, including telephone triage, appointment scheduling, patient check‑in/out, billing, chart filing, and EMR data entry.
Responsibilities
Answer and screen high‑volume telephone calls, record messages, and route calls as appropriate.
Schedule patient appointments and procedures per established policies.
Check patients in upon arrival and check out upon departure.
Collect accurate registration information; ensure all registration forms are complete.
Collect patient and insurance payments and reconcile charges daily.
Verify account balances and refunds; provide balance information to patients.
Maintain patient charts in EMR; file records in appropriate chart sections.
Prepare chart sheets in advance and scan documents into EMR charts.
Transcribe letters and create forms as needed.
Maintain confidentiality of patient records and office information.
Manage front‑office organization, including office supply inventory.
Perform other related duties as directed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of two years of experience in a medical office front‑office or scheduling role preferred.
Entry level (1–4 years experience) or 4+ years experience with additional supervision required.
Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.
Proficiency in computer programs (Excel, email, PowerPoint, EMR).
Basic arithmetic and office equipment operation skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to organize, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing demands.
