The Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History is seeking multiple customer service-oriented, outgoing, and adaptive Visitor Services Associates. Student employees will work in all areas of the Visitor Services department to help fulfill the Museum's mission of inspiring minds to understand the world through collection-based research, interpretation, and education. Employees will work at the Front Desk, in the Gift Store, and with Special events. We are looking for eager candidates to cross-train in each of these areas to help support the museum staff in everyday operations, as well as special events and facility rentals. These events can include, but are not limited to, lectures, banquets, receptions, weddings, and birthday parties. Job Duties : Provide Excellent Customer Service to Visitors, Clients, and Staff Perform all assigned duties in multiple areas, including opening, closing, ticketing, cash handling, preparing daily deposits, and light cleaning Provide information about the museum, university, and community to visitors. Stay informed on museum activities, programs, and exhibits to share with our visitors Serve as a museum representative within the museum's galleries Check in visitors and group reservations. Process and share information regarding multi-tier museum memberships Assist visitors with products in the Gift Store and process sales. Familiarize yourself with the products and vendors in the Store and share that product knowledge with our visitors. Assist with the checking in and labeling new inventory, light cleaning, restocking, and maintaining the appearance of the Museum Greeting and checking in clients, visitors, and vendors during events Assist in planning, preparing for, and executing Special Events, Facility Rentals, and Birthday parties. This may include creating paperwork, being a client liaison, assisting at the loading dock, assisting with set up of tables and chairs, and operating Audio-Visual equipment for Films, Lectures and Live presentations. (Training is provided, but an understanding of A/V equipment is a plus).
