Dean of Students

Reports To Riley Farms Elementary School Principal
Beginning Administrative Duties School Year + 2 weeks
Daily Hours Monday – Friday 7:45 am – 4:45 pm
Qualifications
Master’s Degree or equivalent, or currently working toward completion
Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience, preferably at the K–8 level
Experience in building and/or leadership roles
Experience coordinating and teaching social‑emotional curriculum
Experience with restorative practices
Experience implementing a Multi‑Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
Knowledge of school discipline laws, student due process, and PBIS best practices
Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
Experience using data to monitor student behavior, attendance, and intervention effectiveness
Proficiency in both English and Spanish preferred
Job Responsibilities
Implement and support MTSS behavior systems and practices; provide student supervision and ensure a safe, positive school environment
Oversee In‑School Suspension and restorative practice processes; serve as 504 Plan Manager and ensure compliance with accommodations
Co‑chair the PBIS Committee and lead Tier II intervention planning
Provide professional development and coaching on classroom management and proactive behavior strategies
Manage the behavior referral system and ensure consistent follow‑up and documentation
Support attendance initiatives and address chronic absenteeism in collaboration with families and the SIT team
Communicate effectively with families regarding behavior and attendance concerns
Track and analyze data related to student behavior, attendance, and interventions to guide decision‑making
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Reaching: extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
Lifting: raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position
Grasping: applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm
Talking: expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
Hearing: perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels without correction
Repetitive motions: making substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
Worker subject to environmental conditions
Worker should provide consistent and reliable attendance
