Base pay range $30.00/hr - $40.00/hr

Position Overview/Description Reporting to our Branch Manager, the Driver will support the local branch. The CDL A Driver is responsible for the transportation of non‑hazardous and hazardous waste materials via multiple vehicle types including but not limited to roll‑offs, tankers, box vans, air movers, etc. The Driver also performs tasks under the direct guidance of a supervisor including non‑emergency and emergency response activities involving confined space entry such as manholes, tank cleaning, oil spill clean‑up, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping and shoveling, high‑pressure washing and various other remedial activities.

Duties / Responsibilities

Ensures health and safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner.

Adheres to and documents all transportation compliance requirements including inspection reports, mileage logs, trip reports, etc.

Predominately anticipated local driving, however may require some out‑of‑town travel.

Can load and unload their loads.

Operates light and heavy equipment including skid steers, forklifts, pressure washer (preferred). Provides administrative support to the operations team.

Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) properly and adheres to all safety procedures.

Performs labor‑intensive activities in all weather conditions.

Works in atmospheres with low clearances, confined spaces, and at heights.

Operates light and heavy equipment, not limited to forklifts, aerial lifts, boom lifts, skid steers, excavators, pressure washers, pumps, and other company work vehicles.

Attends mandatory training to earn certifications and obtain information specific to responsibilities.

Ensures all proper paperwork is signed and submitted.

Works on‑call based on a rotating schedule for emergency responses. May require out‑of‑town travel; length of travel will vary, depending on the service center and ongoing project requirements.

Complies with ongoing and random drug testing and physicals as required by the company and our clients.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities

Operation of multiple vehicle types such as roll‑offs, tankers, box vans, and air movers.

Safety‑oriented mindset with the determination to follow all procedures and policies.

Hazmat transportation including placarding and manifesting.

Must be able to get to/from the job site.

Demonstrates accountability and punctuality.

Education and Experience

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

At least two years of CDL A driving experience.

CDL A license.

No manual or air brake restrictions.

40‑hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.

Other Requirements

Must be able to pass a pre‑employment physical, drug screen and alcohol testing.

Must be able to pass a pre‑employment background screening.

Must be able to successfully complete OSHA HAZWOPER 40‑hour and other mandatory trainings.

Ability to work a rotating shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Ability and willingness to travel for extended periods of time, overnight, and on an on‑call basis.

Able to read, write, and understand the English language, and able to follow verbal and written instructions.

Must be able to withstand exposure to dust (chemical and environmental), fumes (chemical and fluids), exhaust and highly pressurized fluids.

Must be able to perform physical labor including lifting, pulling, and pushing heavy objects.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Must be able to wear PPE.

Must be able to work under adverse conditions (heat & cold).
