CDL A Driver – GrayMar Environmental Services, LLC Base pay: $30.00/hr – $40.00/hr

$2,500 Sign‑on Bonus for new CDL A Drivers with Hazmat & Tanker endorsements.

Position Overview Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Driver supports the local branch by transporting non‑hazardous and hazardous waste materials using various vehicles (Roll‑Offs, Tankers, Box Vans, Air Movers, etc.). The Driver will also handle non‑emergency and emergency response tasks such as confined‑space entry, tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, de‑contamination, and other remedial activities under supervisor guidance.

Responsibilities

Ensure health and safety through adherence to policies and safe practices.

Document all transportation compliance requirements (inspection reports, mileage logs, trip reports, etc.).

Provide local driving with occasional out‑of‑town travel.

Load and unload vehicle loads.

Operate light and heavy equipment (skid steers, forklifts, pressure washers, etc.) and provide administrative support to the operations team.

Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures.

Perform labor‑intensive tasks in all weather conditions.

Work in confined spaces, low clearances, and at heights.

Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, aerial lifts, boom lifts, excavators, pumps, and company vehicles.

Attend mandatory training to earn certifications and acquire job‑specific knowledge.

Submit required paperwork.

Work “on‑call” for emergency responses on a rotating schedule; may require out‑of‑town travel.

Comply with random drug testing and physicals as required by the company and its clients.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities

Operate multiple vehicle types (Roll‑Offs, Tankers, Box Vans, Air Movers).

Safety‑oriented mindset with a commitment to follow procedures and policies.

Hazmat transportation experience, including placarding and manifesting.

Ability to travel to/from job sites independently.

Accountable and punctual.

Education & Experience

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

At least two years of CDL A driving experience.

CDL A license with no manual or air‑brake restrictions.

40‑hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.

Other Requirements

Pass pre‑employment physical, drug and alcohol screening.

Pass pre‑employment background screening.

Successfully complete OSHA HAZWOPER 40‑hour and other mandatory trainings.

Work rotating shift schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays).

Work at extended travel periods, overnight stays, and on‑call duties.

Read, write, and understand English; follow verbal and written instructions.

Endure exposure to dust, fumes, exhaust, and highly pressurized fluids.

Perform physical labor (lift, pull, push heavy objects); lift up to 50 lbs.

Wear PPE; work under adverse heat and cold conditions.
