Pay Range Base pay: $27.00/hr – $35.00/hr (actual pay based on skills and experience)

Position Overview/Description Reporting to our Branch Manager, the Hazmat Driver supports the local branch by transporting non-hazardous and hazardous waste materials via various vehicle types. The Driver performs tasks under supervisor guidance, including non-emergency and emergency response activities involving confined space entry, such as manholes, tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, and sweeping.

Duties / Responsibilities

Ensure the safe transport of equipment to job sites and perform a variety of tasks associated with industrial and environmental cleaning, hazardous waste pick-up.

Operate tanker truck and obey all traffic control devices.

Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection on the truck.

Manage schedule and work independently.

Properly clean up product spills when necessary.

Clean and decontaminate regulated materials from spills, trenches, drains, oil/water separators, boilers, tanks, and other industrial cleaning applications.

Run, maintain, and troubleshoot motors, pumps, chainsaws, generators, outboard motors, air compressors, asphalt cutters, and other small power tools.

Attend job assignments promptly, including early and after-hours start times.

Maintain up-to-date training and education for licenses, permits, and regulatory information specific to job responsibilities.

Physical job requiring frequent entry and exit of the truck.

Perform non-emergency and emergency response duties.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities

Operation of multiple vehicle types such as Roll-Offs, Tankers, Box Vans and Air Movers.

Safety-oriented mindset with determination to follow all procedures and policies.

Education & Experience

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Waste experience required.

At least two years of CDL driving experience with a clean driving record.

Class B license required.

Tanker and Hazmat endorsements.

No manual or air brake restrictions.

Experience operating tools such as Guzzler, Vactor Operator, Vacuum Truck, Box Truck Operators.

Other Requirements

Requires manual labor. Moving heavy drums, pallets, totes, etc.
