Deliver nutrition and related subject matter to enrolled participants under the supervision of the County Extension Director with guided assistance from the District EFNEP Extension Associate. Recruit and enroll adult and school-aged youth participants into the program; conduct regular teaching visits in homes or group settings; teach nutrition and food preparation skills using approved curricula and teaching methods. Conduct food demonstrations to adult and youth groups; submit required program records; market the program within the assigned area; recruit volunteers and involve them in leadership roles. Collaborate with local Cooperative Extension staff and agencies; assist with securing program resources; coordinate with the Regional Nutrition Extension Associate (RNEA) and work with the Family and Consumer Science Agent, 4-H Agent and/or CED to meet county needs. Attend and participate in EFNEP and Extension meetings, trainings, and other professional development; some may require overnight travel. Enhance program visibility by communicating program impacts to local stakeholders and potential participants; promote educational opportunities beyond EFNEP within Cooperative Extension and partner agencies. Recruit, train, and utilize volunteers for program promotion, data collection, and delivery; meet established programmatic standards for performance and impact. Other duties as assigned. Working Conditions and Travel

Travel within the county, district, and state using a personal vehicle; travel reimbursed under state guidelines. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; sustained periods of standing and sitting; possible kneeling, stooping, reaching; exposure to heat, humidity, and sun. Must have personal mobility/transportation and a valid driver’s license with appropriate liability insurance; willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed; travel reimbursed per state guidelines. Qualifications

Minimum Education: High-school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Good interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to maintain confidentiality; self-directed with ability to multi-task and set priorities. Excellent communication skills (oral and written); ability to develop effective working relationships with youth, adults, community members, and staff. Preferred: Knowledge of community and social service programs for limited resource families; experience teaching or working with limited resource adults/youth; nutrition education experience. Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) is an asset but not required. License: Valid North Carolina driver’s license within 60 days of hire; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required. Work Schedule

Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm; evenings and weekends as required. Physical and Other Requirements
