Compensation: $70/hour DOE Location: Beaumont, TX (will also work in Hamshire and Sabine Pass, TX) Assignment Duration: 12 months+ Work Schedule: M-F / 40 hours+ Benefits: Comprehensive insurance with 401(k), PTO and holidays Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is preferred Certifications in Welding, Coating, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) are highly desirable Certification in Positive Material Identification (PMI) or equivalent experience is considered an asset Proficiency in ASME, API, and other relevant industry codes and standards is essential 5+ years of experience in receipt inspection or quality control in the oil and gas, LNG, or manufacturing industry Hands-on experience with SAP Quality Management (QM) Module is essential Experience with mechanical and piping materials, valves, and rotating equipment inspection Proficient in the use of measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) for dimensional inspections; strong knowledge of material specifications, testing standards, and document review processes Experience reviewing Manufacturer’s Data Books (MDBs), Material Test Certificates (MTCs), and related inspection/test documentation Strong attention to detail and analytical skills; effective verbal and written communication Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP QM Module Must be able to work on-site in Port Arthur, Texas Ability to lift and inspect heavy materials as needed Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations Responsibilities
Perform receipt inspections of incoming materials and equipment to confirm compliance with purchase order specifications, project standards, and quality requirements Validate the accuracy and completeness of delivery documentation (POs, MTRs, COCs, packing lists) Examine materials for physical damage, manufacturing defects, or deviations from specified requirements Conduct Positive Material Identification (PMI) to verify material composition Take dimensional measurements to ensure conformance to design and fabrication specifications Ensure materials and equipment comply with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI) Confirm material traceability and tagging per project requirements; ensure full traceability of certificates, markings, and identification tags Review MDBs, MTCs, inspection and test records, and other supplier quality documents for accuracy and compliance Maintain comprehensive records of inspection findings and results Prepare and submit material and equipment receipt inspection reports; identify non-conformances and coordinate with suppliers to resolve issues Utilize SAP Quality Management (QM) to track inspection results, document quality records, and manage non-conformances; generate quality notifications in SAP Identify and document non-conforming materials or equipment and work with suppliers/contractors to address issues Coordinate and monitor corrective actions to resolve non-conformances within timelines Prepare and issue NCRs for non-conforming materials or equipment Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and suppliers to resolve quality concerns and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence Communicate inspection results and non-conformance issues with QA/QC Manager and other departments Prepare detailed inspection reports, including photographs and supporting documentation Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams for proper storage and handling of materials and equipment Assist in verifying inventory accuracy with spot checks and audits Validate and maintain current documentation (e.g., CoCs, MTRs, and other records) for materials on hand The Bergaila Way
