Overview
Halff has an immediate opening for a part-time Civil Engineer, with a Texas PE License, to be Project Manager on our Local Infrastructure/Public Works team based out of our The Woodlands, TX office. The ideal candidate would bring at least 5 years of experience in H&H, floodplain analysis, and stormwater analysis. The position would also involve the training/mentorship of other engineers and interaction with the clients. What You Will Do
Manage and oversee the design and construction of infrastructure projects, including municipal roadways, trails, and drainage improvements. Direct responsibility for H&H projects including Master Drainage Plans, drainage impact studies, watershed planning studies, large detention basin and channel H&H analysis, FEMA CLOMR/LOMR submittals, dynamic 1D/2D modeling using HEC-RAS and XP-SWMM, and H&H modeling to support storm sewer, detention, and channel improvement projects. Show strong design experience and, if available, project management experience and knowledge of working with local entities. Manage design and plan production. Manage clients and supervise technical staff. Provide training/mentorship of other engineers. What You Need
Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree At least 5 to 10 years of experience in H&H, floodplain analysis, and stormwater analysis Experience in the Houston area and general knowledge of local criteria (COH, HCFCD and others) Professional Engineer (PE) License in Texas Strong technical H&H knowledge Ability to manage H&H projects and lead/mentor staff Experience with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and GIS required 2-D H&H modeling experience preferred Stormwater design and CAD experience preferred The Halff Public Works Advantage
