Position Description:
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Location: Birmingham Area, Legacy of Hope

The Quality Assurance Coordinator I is responsible for reviewing donor files and coordinating the release of confidential donor and recipient information to outside agencies. Performs internal/external audits and assists in replying to audits from outside agencies. The coordinator will participate in continuous improvement initiatives and must demonstrate a responsible attitude toward continued professional growth.
Position Requirements
Education and Experience:
Required: Bachelor’s or professional degree (e.g., LPN, RN, PA, etc.). Previous experience within an organ procurement organization, tissue bank, or the donation industry acceptable in lieu of education requirement.
Preferred: Experience in healthcare field in ancillary capacity. One year of quality assurance or quality control experience in a healthcare or related field.
License, Certification and/or Registration
Required: N/A
Preferred: Certified Tissue Bank Specialist certification or North American Transplant Coordinators Organization Certification.

Must be self-directed / self-motivated; must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to perform a variety of duties often changing from one task to another, without loss of efficiency or composure.
Accept responsibility for the direction, control and planning of one’s own work, work independently, recognize patient confidentiality rights.
Convey empathy and compassion, relate to others with teamwork and cooperation.
Communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
