80% BARC Customer Service - serves as the primary contact for students, parents, and campus departments regarding billing, payments, and account inquiries. Provides prompt, accurate guidance, troubleshooting issues and offering solutions and training as needed. Identifies trends in customer inquiries and transaction processing, recommending improvements and managing increased volumes during peak registration periods while maintaining efficiency and attention to detail. Requires thorough knowledge of UCSB registration and cash handling policies, FERPA/HIPAA regulations, UC receivable policies, and transaction processing in BARC, CASHNet, and GL systems to effectively resolve issues and support departments. 20% Student Payment Processing - receives mailed and in-person remittance payments, opening and processing them under dual control to ensure accuracy and security. Uses the CASHNet cashiering system and the BARC receivables system to interpret, designate, and record various combinations of payments for BARC charges, including tuition, registration, housing, Student Health, library fines, telephone, and departmental fees. Ensures all payments are accurately processed, applying close attention to detail, and receives, audits, and processes forms for various campus departments according to deadlines. Applies knowledge of specific forms, charges, and procedures to complete transactions correctly, and assists customers with payment inquiries using CASHNet. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent 1-3 years of experience providing professional customer service with clear communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills 1-3 years of experience handling financial transactions, payments, or account-related processes with accuracy 1-3 years of experience maintaining accurate records, reconciling information, or performing data entry tasks in a structured environment 1-3 years of experience using computer systems, databases, or software applications to track, manage, and report information 1-3 years of experience working collaboratively in a team and effectively interacting with clients, customers, or internal stakeholders 1-3 years of experience managing multiple tasks, prioritizing workloads, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced or high-volume setting Special Conditions Of Employment
