Project Manager Summary University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors, Inc. is seeking a QA/QC Manager to lead quality control efforts on mechanical construction projects. The QA/QC Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with industry codes, project specifications, and safety standards. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Enhance and maintain comprehensive quality program. Develop and manage welding QC plans and documentation Review WPS, PQR, and WPQ Coordinate with third-party inspectors and clients Maintain welder certifications and inspection records Support training and resolve quality issues PREFERRED EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
Degree in Welding Tech or Mechanical Engineering Experience in HVAC or piping systems AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) 3–5 years of welding QC experience in construction Knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME IX, API 1104 Familiarity with NDT methods (RT, UT, MT, PT) Strong communication and documentation skills Additional certifications (e.g., NDT Level II, ASQ) Required Attributes
Must demonstrate integrity, honesty, professionalism, and appropriate concern regarding dissemination of sensitive and confidential information. Focuses on the achievement of objectives and standards; Strives to improve or meet a standard of excellence; Must be a self-starter with the ability to build rapport and influence others. Highly self-motivated and ambitious in achieving goals. Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to execute projects on time and on budget. Demonstrated willingness to learn from feedback and experience and changes behavior as a result. Must demonstrate commitment to company values. Language Skills Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customer, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors and suppliers, and other contractor organizations.
