As part of our world-class, performance-focused team you’ll… The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of plant maintenance operations to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient functioning of the facilities, equipment, and systems in our Sioux Falls location. This role combines leadership in safety, preventive maintenance, project management, and regulatory compliance, while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Key Job Accountabilities

As part of the Sioux Falls team you’ll be responsible for… Safety & Compliance

Ensure the safety of all maintenance employees by inspecting work areas for hazards and promptly addressing concerns. Review and assign daily safety topics; lead pre-shift, departmental, and general safety meetings. Serve as a role model for safe work practices and maintain accountability for employee safety. Complete incident reports, conduct investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventive actions. Actively lead risk assessment activities and drive prioritized safety improvements. Oversee required safety training (e.g., Lock-Out Tag-Out, PPE, Arc Flash, Fall Protection, Overhead Crane Safety). Report safety violations and collaborate with the Safety Manager and EH&S team to ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and local regulations. Participate on the Senior Safety Committee and attend monthly meetings. Maintenance Operations

Manage and maintain an effective preventive maintenance program for plant equipment and facilities. Monitor and ensure proper functioning of critical systems such as chillers, cooling towers, compressors, and fire protection systems. Oversee major repairs, upgrades, and capital projects to support plant growth and optimization. Coordinate daily work orders, scheduling, and resource allocation to minimize downtime. Ensure maintenance is performed by qualified personnel and properly documented. Design and implement systems to reduce both planned and unplanned equipment downtime. Maintain adequate inventory of spare parts, production supplies, and safety equipment. Develop, implement, and audit systems for supply inventory accuracy. Review and approve external contractors for compliance with company safety standards and verify insurance requirements. Coordinate vendor services, including facility upkeep, hazardous waste removal, equipment installation, and janitorial services. Leadership & People Management

Supervise and evaluate maintenance team performance through written appraisals, coaching, and corrective actions when necessary. Ensure accurate scheduling of workdays, vacation, and payroll processing. Provide training and verify employee competency in safe machine operation and technical procedures. Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement within the department. Project & Regulatory Responsibilities

Manage the plant’s capital plan and support long-term asset planning. Plan and supervise projects related to plant expansion, optimization, and compliance upgrades. Serve as liaison with insurance inspectors, fire departments, and regulatory agencies. Ensure permits are secured and all activities align with company policies and legal requirements. Guarantee quality workmanship and timely, cost-effective completion of all maintenance projects. Core Competencies

Skills/Experience:

5+ years of progressive maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental health & safety standards, and preventive maintenance programs. Proven ability to lead teams, conduct incident investigations, and implement corrective/preventive actions. Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills. Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) preferred. Personality/Attributes:
