Cape Cod Healthcare . This position involves providing professional support in laboratory information and specimen processing, assisting technical and medical staff, and ensuring excellent service to patients and staff. Responsibilities include:
Ensuring user satisfaction through monitoring and improvement initiatives. Performing data processing such as non-patient admissions, order entry, cancellations, retrieval, and log review. Operating computer systems and backup systems. Answering phones, relaying messages, and providing testing information. Communicating specimen and requisition details to technical staff. Delivering or mailing reports, and handling requisitions and specimens within the hospital. Verifying incoming specimens, checking for acceptability, and distributing them. Preparing specimens for shipment and making transportation arrangements. Managing inventory, ordering stock items, and maintaining confidentiality. Maintaining cleanliness and safety in work areas. Performing cyto-preparation, histology duties, and assisting with frozen sections and grossing room activities. Cleaning glassware and performing general cleaning duties as assigned. Qualifications: Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute. Successful completion of Medical Terminology course or exam. One year of relevant work experience or an accredited degree in Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science or related fields. Knowledge of data systems and effective interpersonal communication skills. Purpose of Position:
To coordinate laboratory information and specimen processing, supporting technical and medical staff. Schedule:
Per Diem hours, rotating days/evenings, Monday-Friday, occasional weekends and holidays. Location:
Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis, Massachusetts. Department:
