Responsibilities

Coordinate and conduct a long-term field and watershed-scale hydrological and geospatial research network within the Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA), in South Florida, based at the UF Everglades Research and Education Center (EREC) in Belle Glade, FL. Implement primary methodologies including field monitoring using sensors (water level recorders, automated weather sensors, water quality sensors) and direct sampling (soil and water samples, auto-samplers, flow measurements, vegetation samples). Coordinate logistics of field and laboratory data collection and manage core lab functions (sensor design and troubleshooting, field safety, equipment ordering, lab safety, data quality control and management). Contribute to hydrologic modeling work with emphasis on the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) as applicable. Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with anticipated statewide travel; engage in team coordination and methods development to support team activities. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, other postdocs, industry and agency partners, and the public. Support work-life balance and contribute to an inclusive environment through research, teaching, mentoring, and professional service. Required Qualifications

A PhD (foreign equivalent acceptable) in the field of Soil Science, Agronomy, Agriculture and Biological Engineering or a related field is required. Candidates must be supportive of the mission of the Land-Grant system. Candidates must have a commitment to UF core values. Preferred Qualifications

This position is based at the UF Everglades Research and Education Center (EREC) in Belle Glade, Florida and involves field and laboratory responsibilities and statewide travel. The project entails hydrologic modeling with a focus on SWAT and related geospatial analyses. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
