Department Website: https://cchcs.ca.gov/careers Apply counseling interventions and psychotherapeutic techniques within the scope of applicable Business and Professions Code(s) and license to improve an incarcerated individual’s mental health. Provide preventive skills and wellness strategies and assist with outreach to inmates not in the mental health delivery system. Collaborate with mental health services to support the incarcerated population’s access to care and treatment. Minimum Qualifications
Education: Possession of a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling or Psychotherapy that meets the requirements stipulated in Business and Professional Code 4999.32. Licensure: Possession of a valid license as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Applicants who do not qualify for licensure at the time of appointment may be admitted to the examination and appointed but must secure licensure within four years; otherwise employment is limited to the duration necessary to achieve licensure plus one year. Note: A Training and Development (T&D) assignment will not be considered at this time. Additional Information
