Clinical Assist/Assoc Professor in Large Animal Ambulatory Practice
The Department of Large Animal Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia, invites applications for a clinical-track faculty position in Farm Practice in the Field Services Section at the rank of clinical assistant/associate professor. The successful candidate will provide primary and selected specialized veterinary care to a mixed large animal population in the field. The ideal candidate would be willing to enthusiastically embrace first opinion large animal cases (equine, small ruminant, bovine, camelid, and pet pig). Expertise and comfort with equine routine/preventative care and emergencies and willingness to provide veterinary care to other large animal species is required. Responsibilities will include clinical teaching and service, with a specific assignment tailored to the interests of the candidate in conjunction with the missions of the Farm Practice service and Departmental needs. The successful candidate should have an interest in promoting the diverse caseload and augmenting the services offered to best serve the teaching and service needs of the College of Veterinary Medicine. Minimum qualifications include a DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited college of veterinary medicine. To be considered for the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor, candidates must have 2 years post-DVM experience in large animal practice. To be considered for the rank of Clinical Associate Professor, candidates must have a minimum of 7 years post-DVM experience and be board certified in a relevant discipline or have an exception.
