Behavioral Health Clinician – LCSW/LSW/LPC/LAC – Full Time, Days – Newton Medical Center, NJ
Base pay range
$33.33/hr - $58.67/hr
Job Description The Pediatric Psychiatry Collaborative (PPC) is a state‑funded grant program that ensures screening, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children presenting in pediatric primary care with behavioral health concerns. This role is key to a state‑wide initiative to expand mental health and care coordination, working with pediatric providers, PPC clinical teams, child/adolescent psychiatrists, and community mental health agencies.
Responsibilities
Conduct telephonic biopsychosocial assessments of patients up to age 21 referred from pediatric providers.
Complete written clinical assessments in the electronic medical record.
Formulate treatment recommendations for patient behavioral health needs.
Develop a plan of care in collaboration with the patient/guardian, patient support persons, and the healthcare team.
Assist with care coordination to treatment by identifying and providing local behavioral health resources.
Facilitate internal referrals to AHS behavioral health services as needed.
Provide psychoeducation and assistance with navigating resources to patients and guardians.
Maintain and expand a local resource list.
Collaborate with treatment team members, pediatric providers, patient guardians, schools, and other organizations to ensure positive outcomes.
Conduct case reviews with the Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist.
Work closely with the Coordinator on other assigned duties.
Participate in team meetings and other meetings as scheduled.
Complete all mandatory AHS trainings and competencies.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in social work or a related field.
LCSW, LSW, LPC, or LAC licensure from the State of New Jersey.
Preferred experience working with pediatric/adolescent populations.
Bilingual skills are a plus.
