Behavioral Health Clinician – Full Time – Days – Florham Park, NJ
Base pay range: $33.33/hr – $58.67/hr
Provide short‑term psychotherapeutic services including individual, marital, family, and group treatment.
Responsibilities
Conduct initial biopsychosocial assessments for adult patients seeking behavioral health services to determine need for treatment of behavioral issues.
Complete and analyze evidence‑based screening tools and assessments.
Provide individual, group, and family counseling for adult patients.
Along with patients, develop treatment plans, including clear problem statements and measurable, relevant objectives for a range of behavioral health concerns.
Collaborate with other mental health professionals to coordinate care.
Complete required documentation and charting of patient encounters in a timely manner.
Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current on best practices in the field of behavioral health.
Meet with supervisor for clinical supervision and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care, concerns, and planning.
Advocate for patients and assist them in accessing community resources.
Complete all mandatory AHS trainings and competencies as assigned.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field.
State licensure required (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT) or license‑eligible with active supervision.
Prior experience in behavioral health settings preferred.
Bilingual a plus.
Competencies
Demonstrate ability to conduct biopsychosocial assessments and screen effectively for suicide and violence risk as well as abuse and neglect.
Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable, patient‑centered goals and utilize evidence‑based therapeutic approaches appropriate to presenting problems.
Build rapport and trust quickly with a range of patients, using active listening skills, reflective statements, and non‑judgmental language.
Maintain clear, timely, and accurate clinical notes that meet legal and departmental standards, managing caseload effectively.
Uphold professional ethical standards, maintain appropriate boundaries and therapeutic relationships.
