Behavioral Health Clinician (LSW) – Newton, NJ
Full Time – Monday Friday (1 or 2 evenings required)
Base Pay: $33.33/hr – $58.67/hr
Responsibilities
Conduct initial biopsychosocial assessments for patients seeking behavioral health services to determine need for treatment of behavioral issues.
Complete and analyze evidence-based screening tools and assessments.
Provide individual, group, and family counseling for patients.
Develop treatment plans with clear problem statement, treatment goal(s), measurable, relevant objectives for a range of behavioral health concerns.
Collaborate with other mental health professionals to coordinate care.
Complete required documentation and charting of patient encounters in a timely manner.
Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current on best practices in the field of behavioral health.
Meet with supervisor for clinical supervision and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care, concerns, and planning.
Advocate for patients and assist them in accessing community resources.
Complete all mandatory AHS trainings and competencies as assigned.
Qualifications
MA degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology.
LSW license required; LCSW/LPC highly preferred. Ph.D. or Psy.D. accepted.
Previous clinical/counseling experience in an outpatient setting preferred.
Bilingual a plus.

Demonstrates ability to conduct biopsychosocial assessments, screen effectively for suicide and violence risk, abuse and neglect.
Develops individualized treatment plans with measurable, patient-centered goals, uses evidence-based therapeutic approaches appropriate to the presenting problem(s).
Builds rapport and trust quickly with a range of patients, uses active listening skills, reflective statements and non-judgmental language, conveys understanding and acceptance without reinforcing maladaptive behaviors.
Maintains clear, timely and accurate clinical notes that meet legal and departmental standards, manages caseload effectively.
Upholds professional ethical standards, maintains appropriate boundaries and therapeutic relationships.
