Responsible for providing short-term psychotherapeutic services including individual, marital, family and group treatment.
Principal Accountabilities
Conduct initial biopsychosocial assessments for patients seeking behavioral health services to determine need for treatment of behavioral issues.
Complete and analyze evidenced based screening tools and assessments.
Provides individual, group and family counseling for patients.
Along with patient, develop treatment plans for patient, including clear problem statement, treatment goal(s), with measurable, relevant objectives for a range of behavioral health concerns.
Collaborate with other mental health professionals to coordinate care.
Completes required documentation and charting of patient encounters in a timely manner.
Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current on best practices in the field of behavioral health.
Meets with supervisor for clinical supervision, participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care, concerns and planning.
Advocates for patients and assist them in accessing community resources.
Completes all mandatory AHS trainings and competencies as assigned.
Qualifications
MA degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology
State licensure required (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT) or license-eligible with active supervision
Previous clinical/counseling experience in an outpatient setting preferred
Bilingual a plus

Demonstrates ability to conduct biopsychosocial assessments, screens effectively for suicide and violence risk as well as abuse and neglect.
Develops individualized treatment plans with measurable, patient centered goals, utilizes evidence based therapeutic approaches appropriate to the presenting problem(s).
Can build rapport and trust quickly with a range of patients, uses active listening skills, reflective statements and nonjudgemental language, conveys understanding and acceptance without reinforcing maladaptive behaviors.
Maintains clear, timely and accurate clinical notes that meet legal and departmental standards, manages caseload effectively.
Upholds professional ethical standards, maintains appropriate boundaries and therapeutic relationships.
