Overview Respiratory Therapist role at Summa Health. Full-time, 36 hours per week, 3rd shift. Akron City Campus.

Incentives: RRTs with less than one year of experience are eligible for a $6,000 hire-on incentive; RRTs with more than one year of experience are eligible for a $10,000 hire-on incentive.

Responsibilities

Administers a variety of respiratory therapy modalities and interventions to patients according to physician orders and hospital policies/protocols based on evidence-based research, guidelines, and algorithms.

Formal Education Required

Graduate of an AMA or CoARC approved program for Respiratory Therapists (Registry eligible).

Experience and Training Required

Valid Ohio license (RCP) to practice Respiratory Care, granted by the State Medical Board of Ohio.

Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) and obtain RRT within 120 days of employment (start date).

Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Population-specific competency: ability to effectively interact with patient populations with understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.

Physical Demands

Heavy: Exerts 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force continuously to move objects.

Salary $33.41/hr - $40.10/hr. The posted salary range is base salary exclusive of bonuses or differentials. Factors such as years of experience and geographic location are considered. This range reflects the full base salary; hiring at the maximum is not typical.
