Responsibilities
Lead the oversight and management of the Metal department and all manufacturing support functions in a world‑class plant operation.
Supervise all employees to ensure timely completion of all work orders while meeting quality and efficiency standards.
Provide safety leadership, develop new safety policies and procedures, and promote a culture of safety, process compliance, and operational excellence.
Mentor the Metal team by promoting high standards, 5S, housekeeping practices, and hazardous communication participation.
Assist in the hiring, training, and supervision of Metal staff, fostering a positive, employee‑centric work environment.
Evaluate and discipline employees as required, according to company policies.
Investigate and report on all labor variances.
Qualifications
High School Diploma; Engineering or Industrial degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in fabrication and assembly of metal products or heavy manufacturing.
Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams.
Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical personnel.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); previous ERP experience preferred.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑shift environment and lift 50 pounds.
Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 certification requirements.
Working Conditions
Must be on the shop floor for a minimum of 50% of the workday, involving walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
Required to lift 50 pounds and move odd shaped objects.
Work 40‑hour week with overtime as required.
Required to wear eye, hearing, and foot protection.
