Research Scientist or Postdoctoral Fellow in Alzheimer’s Disease and Neurodegeneration
Interested candidates should send a cover letter describing their scientific interests and qualifications, their curriculum vitae, and the names and contact information of three professional references to Ana Pereira at ana.pereira@mssm.edu . Description
The Icahn School is searching for an outstanding research scientist or postdoctoral fellow interested in studying the neurobiology of Alzheimer’s disease using animal models, postmortem human tissue, iPSC and bioinformatics tools for potential novel therapeutic target discovery and validation at Ana Pereira’s Laboratory. We will also study selective regional and cellular vulnerability to tau pathology and neurodegeneration. Candidates should have a strong background in molecular and cell biology and have experience with the following techniques: cell culture, DNA/RNA isolation, cellular fractionation, western blot, PCR/qRT-PCR, in situ hybridization, immunohistochemical labeling. Preference for candidates with experience in either iPSC or bioinformatics. An interest in neurodegeneration will be highly valued. A demonstrated track record of self-motivation, ability to work independently at the bench, enthusiasm, and scientific rigor is necessary. Requirements
Applicants should have a Ph.D./M.D. with research experience in neuroscience or cellular and molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field. An interest in neurodegeneration will be highly valued. A demonstrated track record of self-motivation, ability to work independently at the bench, enthusiasm, and scientific rigor are necessary.
