About the Position The Senior Scientist will join a drug discovery team developing groundbreaking and best‑in‑class therapeutics for the treatment of prostate cancer. This laboratory‑based role focuses on advancing research programs through various stages of preclinical drug discovery. The position requires high productivity, effective collaboration with colleagues within the oncology group and other cross‑functional teams, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑level alignment environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute sophisticated in vitro experiments, and interpret data for validation and characterization of new therapeutic agents and targets to progress programs.
Support the generation of comprehensive and well‑designed pre‑clinical data packages in support of various programs, including IND readiness for First‑In‑Human (FIH) studies.
Perform cell biology techniques such as cell culture, characterization of cell lines/tissue lysates by western blotting/qPCR, cell proliferation assays including Incucyte‑based assays, flow cytometry/FACS, CRISPR gene knockout, lentiviral transduction of stable cell lines, cell imaging, and other functional assays.
Analyze, prepare, and present data to internal stakeholders and project teams.
Work independently and conduct multiple experiments simultaneously to generate robust data packages aligned with scientific strategies and demands.
Contribute to various projects outside of one’s own, collaborating with team members from all relevant functions.
Keep up to date with the literature related to prostate cancer.
Demonstrate clear and professional verbal and written communication.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. with relevant postdoctoral or industry experience in drug discovery, novel target identification, and validation.
Strong cell biology and assay development skills.
A robust background in cancer biology and drug discovery.
Previous experience screening and characterizing biologic and small‑molecule leads.
Proficiency with software such as GraphPad Prism, FlowJo, and Microsoft Office.
Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving skills, excellent organizational, and record‑keeping skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in prostate cancer research.
Intellectual curiosity and awareness of the latest scientific advances in the field.
Demonstrated creativity and novel approaches to solving scientific problems.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with others, internally and externally.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to effectively present scientific data and concepts to diverse audiences.
