8.0 Shift:

2 weekend shifts per month; 2 holidays per year Join the Inpatient Physical Therapy department at the MetroHealth System. Primary Skills Utilized/Learned

Evaluates and treats patients by physical measures and the use of therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation procedures (with or without assistive devices) for the purpose of preventing, correcting, or alleviating disabilities.

Patients may include neonates through the geriatric population.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, or post-graduate certificate in Physical Therapy from a school accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)

Hold a Physical Therapist licensure in the State of Ohio

Possesses current BLS certification, or obtains within 90 days of hire

Ability to travel to satellite locations

Preferred Qualifications

Membership in the APTA

Physical Requirements

Ability to walk without an assistive device and to maintain balance during ambulation and gait training

Ability to lift and reach with arms to assist with patient exercises

Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to palpate muscle tension or monitor patient’s pulse

Visual acuity to observe patient movement and gait

Clear spoken communication to instruct patients and families

Hearing to understand patient descriptions of symptoms and responses to treatment

Frequent tasks (25-75%): standing, sitting with/without back support, walking, reaching, crouching, balancing, lifting 5-25 pounds, carrying 5-10 pounds, and pushing up to 75 pounds

Occasional tasks (5-25%): stooping, climbing, lifting or moving 24-50 pounds, carrying 10-25 pounds, and operating power tools and machinery
