Minimum Qualifications

Technical knowledge in HVAC/Refrigeration obtained through apprenticeship, formal training, or on‑the‑job experience.

Ability to troubleshoot and repair refrigeration, air‑conditioning, heating, or related equipment.

Reading and understanding of blueprints, sketches, oral and written instructions.

Ability to follow standard trade practices.

Refrigerant handling certification (or willingness to obtain).

Competencies

Ability to troubleshoot and repair refrigeration, air‑conditioning, heating or related equipment.

Understand and follow oral and written instructions; work from blueprints and sketches.

Apply standard trade practices in performing work.

Use refrigerant handling equipment; obtain certification if not already certified.

Physical Demands

Lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, working overhead, climbing stairs, and using ladders throughout an 8‑hour shift.

Lift up to 75 lbs during a work shift.

Responsibilities (Percentage of Time)

Operate, troubleshoot, repair and install building HVAC systems – 60%

Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment – 15%

Perform building equipment checks and inspections – 10%

Interact with customers via phone and in person to coordinate work – 5%

Prepare work related documents (work orders, vouchers, reports, purchase requests, etc.) – 5%

Other duties as required and assigned by supervisors – 5%
