Job Purpose The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical maintenance background related to heavy manufacturing and will work rotating 12‑hour shifts. The role involves performing and supervising maintenance of plant mechanical equipment, welding, hydraulics, pneumatic systems, and basic electrical work.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform essential functions of a millwright with extensive welding applications.
Conduct stick/MIG welding (overhead) and install modifications to existing equipment.
Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic plumbing systems in an industrial environment.
Repair and perform maintenance engineering functions on all plant mechanical equipment.
Use industrial electrical knowledge and understand PLC interactions with hydraulic systems.
Assist in developing solutions to operational problems and process improvements.
Perform administrative tasks as assigned.
Work effectively in a team‑oriented facility.
Qualifications Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent GED/HSE (required).
Associates degree or certificate in mechanical or electrical field (preferred).
Strong mechanical background and minimum of 2 years of heavy industrial experience (required).
Experience with basic PLC/electrical understanding in heavy industry (preferred).
Strong communication skills and ability to pass a 3‑G stick overhead welding test (preferred).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (required).
Working Conditions
Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Work with hands in awkward positions (reach above shoulder, kneel, crouch).
Operate in extreme hot and cold, wet, humid, dusty, and noisy conditions.
Be present in confined areas and around moving heavy machinery and high‑voltage equipment.
Wear personal protective equipment at all times.
