Overview
Performs preventative maintenance and service on cars, trucks, tractors, mowers, weed eaters, sweepers, scrubbers, emergency generators and other motorized equipment owned by the Ohio Expositions Commission. Tasks include tuning gas and/or diesel engines, checking for damage, adjusting parts, changing fluids and filters, inspecting belts and chains, and replacing as necessary. Repairs, rebuilds or replaces major parts (carburetors, alternators, water pumps, fuel pumps, brakes, exhaust systems). Performs body repair work, adjusts valves, repairs ties, replaces shocks, snow-plow blades and other items on equipment owned by the agency. Maintains records of repairs and maintenance, and orders or picks up parts. Operates welding torches, chop saws, drill presses, gas and electric welders and uses all equipment that receives service. Responsibilities
Assist in set-up, clean up and removal of programs and events. Serve as the maintenance contact for events as assigned, helping with event needs including hauling materials and setting up/removing event equipment. Sweep, mop, scrub, wash windows as needed for events. Close and secure buildings at the end of each event day. Keep records of event requests, damages, head counts, stall counts and meter readings as needed. Remove snow and ice from parking lots and walkways; spread salt and calcium to melt ice. Qualifications
24 months of experience in automotive repair and maintenance of a variety of vehicles or equipment. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) required. An applicant may substitute the minimum class qualifications for experience noted above with the equivalent, but not for the mandated licensure. An applicant accepted for employment will be required to submit to urinalysis prior to appointment to test for illegal drug use; a positive test result will disqualify an applicant per Section 3719.01 & 3719.41 of the Ohio Revised Code.
