Safran is a global leader in aerospace and defense technology. This role focuses on shaping and continuously improving MRO processes for a key product line.
Mission Description This Manufacturing Engineer position is not a traditional production role; it is a chance to shape and continuously improve our MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) processes, leading initiatives focused on process documentation, efficiency improvement, and product enhancement while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
Primary Responsibilities
Review and document current MRO processes and identify improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with suppliers and Quality Assurance to resolve supplier inquiries and product defects.
Analyze and modify product designs in collaboration with Design Engineering to assure manufacturability.
Develop design, selection, specification, and optimization of required equipment, fixtures, tooling, gaging, processes, and operations.
Determine technical matters to meet desired volume, schedule, cost, and quality level.
Monitor established processes via data collection for statistical analysis and continuous improvement enablers.
Evaluate manufacturing capability and provide technical support at the supply base.
Develop procedures for economical mass production in cooperation with pilot‑plant and production departments.
Conduct tests and measurements throughout production stages to control applicable variables.
Review field support requirements and recommend tools and test equipment.
Determine maintenance and repair materials required for deployment.
Qualifications / Experience Needed
University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or Advanced Degree and minimum 3 years experience.
Minimum 1 year SAP related experience.
Minimum 5 years experience in 2D/3D CAD drawing creation and blueprint reading.
Position requires use of information or access to hardware subject to ITAR. All applicants must be U.S. Persons within ITAR.
