Vascular Technologist PRN position at Heart Hospital of Austin (part of HCA Healthcare). Requires occasional on-call, with arrival within 45 minutes of call. Job Summary and Qualifications

Responsible for performing all assigned diagnostic ultrasound exams in a timely manner. Procedures are performed according to physician orders or prescriptions on outpatients. As a member of the care team, the Ultrasound Sonographer collaborates with other team members to assure safe and accurate delivery of patient care. Assumes responsibility for patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement, and equipment maintenance under the direction of the Laboratory. Responsibilities of the Vascular Technologist

Identify upper/lower extremity venous anatomy. Identify collateral venous pathways in presence of disease. Perform upper/lower extremity Venous Duplex protocol for DVT. Identify extra cranial and intracranial anatomy. Perform Carotid Duplex exam protocol. Identify upper/lower extremity arterial anatomy. Perform protocol for upper/lower extremity arterial flow exam. Operate the complex measurement and Doppler programs. Consistently produce scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric. Complete quality scans in a timely manner and effectively organize and prioritize workflow to meet STAT and urgent demands. Demonstrate proficiency in scanning trauma, acute and challenging patients; modify positioning and scanning factors when standard cannot be performed. Assist physicians performing invasive exams. Perform procedures in the operating room. Complete required documentation on forms, logs and in computer systems. Follow Patient Care and Safety Policies and Procedures. Take call on a rotating basis; arrive at HHA within 45 minutes of receipt of call. Qualifications of the Vascular Technologist

Associate Degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound Certificate of successful completion from an accredited school of vascular ultrasound One year of previous experience in vascular ultrasound (preferred) Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) with ARDMS or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) with CCI Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date Benefits
