Phlebotomist II – Colorado Springs, CO

– Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with rotational Saturdays. Salary range: $20.86–$24.00 per hour. Successful candidates may be eligible for an annual performance bonus.

Job Description This position involves collecting and processing blood specimens for a variety of tests, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance examinations. The role requires accurate data entry, computer navigation, and compliance with departmental policies.

Responsibilities

Collect specimens according to established procedures (including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams).

Administer oral solutions per established training.

Research test/client information and verify written and electronic orders using lab technology systems.

Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.

Obtain identification, enter billing information, and collect payments when required, in accordance with corporate policies.

Label, centrifuge, aliquot, freeze, and prepare specimens for transport as required by test order.

Perform non‑patient facing duties such as inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and emailing.

Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.

Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.

Maintain phlebotomy logs (maintenance, temperature, etc.) in a timely manner.

Complete online and in‑person training courses promptly.

Qualifications

Three years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Keyboard/data entry experience.

Flexible and available for weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime as needed.

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).

High school diploma or equivalent.

Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic training) preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

English communication proficiency.
