Position Title:

Molecular Biologist II

| Entity: Bureau Veritas North America – Consumer Products Services Division | Location: Indianapolis, IN Employment type: Full-time | Seniority level: Entry level | FLSA: Non-Exempt Hours Worked: Typically, Monday through Friday, forty hours per week. Must be flexible to meet department needs and complete other projects as assigned. Compensation Range: $27.00 – $29.00 per hour. Note: the posted range may reflect location and experience factors and may vary by actual compensation.

Position Summary

The Molecular Biologist II is responsible for helping develop innovative therapies for inflammatory and autoimmune diseases using cell-based assays and molecular biology techniques. The role requires strong organization, protocol execution and development, adherence to good research practice (GRP), and the ability to deliver data in a timely manner. This position may be performed independently or with limited guidance, while maintaining quality and compliance and upholding the organization\'s Values and Absolutes. Duties and Responsibilities Establish and run cell-based assays (primary cells and immortalized cell lines) followed by analysis of mRNA (qPCR) and protein levels (Western Blot and ELISA) in cells, supernatant, and tissues.

Perform a variety of protein-based molecular techniques including PCR, MSD, PBMC isolation, ELISA, qPCR, Western Blotting, Flow Cytometry, and other biochemical assays.

Conduct mammalian cell culture techniques and transfections.

Adhere to standards for test methods and SOPs; prepare samples for testing according to standards/specifications.

Accurately report and record test data in electronic or handwritten notebooks as needed.

Prepare equipment and maintain supplies, lab cleanliness, and analytical instrumentation.

Perform testing independently with minimal supervision and prepare written technical reports.

Perform basic data analysis and assist with training.

Follow client guidelines and Bureau Veritas CPS policies and procedures; comply with applicable regulatory requirements and BV-CPS Quality System.

Skills & Proficiencies Strong aseptic technique and cell culture experience.

Solid fundamentals in lab techniques, safe chemical handling, and pipetting (single and multichannel).

Written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in groups and with clients.

Organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Team-oriented with strong work ethic; proficiency with Windows, Word & Excel.

Attention to detail; ability to present facts and recommendations clearly; problem solving and process improvement skills.

Education and Experience Bachelor\'s Degree in Biology or closely related field.

Minimum of one (1) year of experience with pipetting, protein isolation, buffers/solutions preparation, serial dilutions, Western Blot, ELISA, mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of the above.
