Overview
Marine Electrician (US Navy Submarine) Make meaningful contributions that fuel critical outcomes for complex government, defense, and intelligence projects. This role supports the SUB AIT program for In-Service Attack Submarines, focusing on achieving optimal submarine operational readiness through repair, maintenance, removal/installation, troubleshooting, and testing for CNO submarine maintenance availabilities. Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, Maine Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii Kings Bay Naval Shipyard, Kings Bay, Georgia Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, Virginia Bremerton Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, Washington Requirements
2+ years’ experience performing repair work on nuclear submarines within the trade they are being assigned. HS/GED US Citizenship required Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance Responsibilities
Marine Electricians perform non-nuclear electrical work: install, modify, repair, troubleshoot and test various electrical and electronics systems, circuits, controls, instruments and equipment; include installation of wire ways and cabling. Generator/motor repair and electrical work: disassemble, inspect, test, repair, adjust, balance components; insulate and finish components; assemble motor/generator components. Topside electrical work: remove, disassemble, inspect, repair, install external electrical systems cabling; install hull fittings and penetrators; maintain tank indicators. Do SUBSAFE-related work as required, following NAVSEA guidance (L/R). Follow Navy Standard Methods Drawings for wiring and cable installations; ensure proper cutting in of cables and equipment connections. Utilize electrical checks to test and troubleshoot systems; disconnect, groom, and reconnect wiring as needed. Qualifications
Trained, qualified and experienced in tasks similar to TSD EW (Non-nuclear Electrical Work), TSD E4 (Generator/Motor Repair, Electrical), and TSD TZ (Topside Electrical Work). Experience performing SUBSAFE work IAW NAVSEA 0924-062-0010 L/R (Submarine Safety Requirements Manual). Ability to read Navy Standard Methods Drawings and apply them to wiring and equipment installations. Additional Information
