MGS has an exciting opportunity for a

Senior Toolmaker

to join our

MGS Germantown Manufacturing

team.

The Senior Toolmaker is responsible for the repair and preventive maintenance of molds. They provide expert technical guidance to toolmakers, resolving mold‑related issues promptly and effectively.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

Troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair of plastic molds and hot systems.

Daily use of toolroom equipment such as a mill, surface grinders, and lathes to facilitate mold repair or improvement.

Repair or request replacement parts, tooling or hardware as needed to maintain replacement inventory.

Set‑up and operate all hand‑tool equipment along with manual toolroom machines.

Coordinate with our internal new tooling group for specific operations or needs.

Understand and usage of toolroom inspection equipment as required.

Any other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

High school diploma or GED is required. Completion of a state indentured tool and die apprenticeship (Journeyman card) is preferred and/or 5‑7 years of on‑the‑job training and experience.

Experience working with plastic molds preferred.

Experience with repairing and preventive maintenance of molds.

Troubleshooting and reverse engineering experience.

Experience with toolroom equipment such as CNC mills, manual mills, surface grinders, and lathes.

Experience working with hot systems preferred.

Basic understanding of injection molding process, equipment, and materials.

Lock‑out/Tag‑out and forklift experience.
