Akima Intra-Data (AID) is seeking a Maintenance Plumber for a full-time, on-site role in Saint Louis, Missouri. The position involves general plumbing duties necessary for maintaining, repairing, and upgrading facilities and structures. Responsibilities include: Performing plumbing functions such as installation, maintenance, and repair of pipes, fittings, and fixtures in accordance with plumbing codes. Cutting openings in walls, floors, or ceilings for pipe installation and assembling various pipe fittings using hand and power tools. Installing or repairing sinks, toilets, water heaters, and other plumbing fixtures, including clearing clogged drains. Studying building plans and drawings to plan work and avoid structural obstructions. Cutting, threading, and bending pipes as required. Joining pipes using threaded joints, flanges, soldering, or plastic welding. Testing pipe systems for leaks using water or air pressure gauges. Maintaining and repairing plumbing fixtures and systems, including leak repairs. Using pipe locators to prevent damage to existing sewer and gas lines. Reporting accidents, injuries, and hazards promptly. Assisting other trades and working from blueprints or instructions. Following safety procedures and using protective equipment. Inspecting and maintaining fire suppression systems and backflow preventers. Ensuring proper housekeeping and operating company vehicles and equipment. Qualifications: Must be a U.S. citizen. High school diploma or GED required. Successful background check, including criminal and credit checks, and ability to obtain a government clearance. Ability to pass pre-employment drug testing. Possess or be able to obtain a Top-Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information. At least 5 years of experience at the Journeyman plumber level. Desired Qualifications: Top-Secret security clearance with SCIF access eligibility. Trade or technical school training preferred. Certified Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester and Repair/ Maintenance training. Work Conditions include: Standard hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with potential overtime and on-call duties. Work is performed indoors and outdoors, with exposure to weather, hazards, and physical challenges. Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory.
