A Team Leader must exemplify the company’s culture through the execution of the Mission and Values, demonstrate aggressive customer service at all times, effectively lead all store associates, and manage total store operations in the absence of salaried management. The role requires developing expertise in company culture, merchandising, shrink control, and operational aspects of the store, with a focus on career development toward senior management. The Team Leader should become knowledgeable of the local market, customer base, seasonality opportunities, competitors, and other specifics that may influence the business. The Team Leader is a role model, leader, and problem-solver who must manage time to help achieve budgeted store goals and instill CNRG’s Mission and Values in all associates. Responsibilities
Exemplify and ensure CNRG’s Mission and Values remain forefront in daily business, and keep all associates informed of store and company expectations and news Ensure aggressive customer service is defined to associates and demonstrated as part of total store operations to exceed customer expectations Supervise other associates as assigned Maintain a high level of enthusiasm, commitment, and energy, and motivate other associates to do the same Provide appropriate solutions to customer questions Stay up-to-date on all current programs and company procedures, and communicate them to all team members Coordinate merchandise orders to align with sales trends and customer demand Complete cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies Demonstrate leadership and adhere to CNRG’s Mission, Vision, and Values Train incoming new associates in product knowledge, selling skills, and customer service Maintain appearance of the sales floor and stock areas including stocking product Create merchandise displays to improve sales and ease of shopping Collaborate with others to complete tasks and achieve budgeted goals Clean the store and exterior areas; identify and correct safety problems or hazards Complete price checks and price changes in a timely manner Be certified in all relevant store areas (e.g., forklifts, DOT, gate, receiving, service desk) Perform other functions as assigned by supervisor Qualifications & Skills
Must demonstrate leadership and problem-solving skills; able to manage with limited supervision Strong oral and written communication skills to interact with customers, vendors, and other associates Understanding of aggressive customer service and team orientation Ability to develop management and organizational skills Ability to interpret data in statistical or numerical form and apply it to merchandise and operations in the absence of management Detail-oriented with ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Physical ability to climb ladders, reach, bend, twist, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs, and stock overhead areas Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays Benefits
