Job Title:Program ManagerDepartment:Medicine | Surgery Administration Job Description The Program Manager functions as the Education Program Manager having a dual reporting relationship to the Department Administrator with a dotted line reporting relationship to the Program Director, and is a key member of the education team in the Department of Surgery; manages, implements, and oversees all departmental educational programs including surgery residency program, fellowship training programs, and continuing medical education program and events; monitors and ensures educational and training programs are in compliance with all institutional and national regulations and guidelines including Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME); plans, coordinates, oversees and serves as a key participant in internal and external reviews for accreditation purposes; collaborates with Program Director in strategic planning processes; collaborates with Program Director regarding program design and planning; plans, promotes and oversees execution of educational events and department events; implements and oversees program policies and procedures; develops and administers continuing medical education budget and overall education program budget; serves as a liaison to faculty, residents, visiting scholars, and national organizations inquiring about educational programs; participates in planning of patient education events and community programs; coordinates initial credentialing and reappointment of trainees; interacts with the College of Medicine and the Graduate Medical Education office; develops and establishes improvements to the overall effectiveness of the educational goals set by the department.
Minimum Education Required Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 4 years of relevant experience required.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; experience in educational programming and administration required; experience and knowledge of medical education regulations, accreditation, and compliance required, preferably in an academic medical center setting. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidates may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
