Overview

Ops Manager manages the operations and personnel for locations with approximately 450 truck units. The Ops Manager must be able to accomplish results through direct involvement and limited delegation of work and responsibilities, ensuring business objectives and labor requirements are met. The Ops Manager is responsible for ensuring customer needs are met while balancing financial, operating, quality, safety and asset targets against business metrics. The position oversees location performance against metrics to meet or exceed objectives and ensures compliance with key company processes, Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Repair Practices. All Ryder Maintenance Operations policies and procedures must be adhered to. This role may be developmental to prepare incumbents for the Senior Operations Manager role, based on performance. Essential Functions

Operations Management: Oversee work analysis, vehicle planning and scheduling, assign work to technicians, track productivity, lead shift and shop meetings, and approve RO. Involved in strategic Labor Planning by evaluating incoming work, allocating resources, balancing shifts, establishing operating hours, and level loading workload to maximize efficiency. Optimize labor mix of straight time, OT, and Outside Repair. Align shift patterns with qualified tech hours and equipment availability. Oversee the Workflow Management process. Labor Management: Provide leadership and development to the branch management team (Operations Manager, Operations Supervisors, Technicians In Charge, Customer Service Coordinators). Manage performance, develop and execute the Technical Training Plan, prioritize TOPS based on breakdown and cost trends. Evaluate staffing needs; manage Recruiting, Hiring, On-boarding, Payroll, and Succession Planning. Customer Management: Manage customer relationships, issue resolution, satisfaction, uptime, and retention. Optimize vehicle maintenance cycle time and ensure Delivered in Time Promised targets. Execute the Customer Communication Protocol. Partner with Sales to scope new opportunities and grow existing accounts; collaborate to develop the service requirements in the Customer Care Plan; conduct customer visits and annual reviews as required by the plan. Financial Management: Lead budgetary forecasting and cost control for maintenance operations and location P&L. Drive Maintenance Initiatives to meet financial targets. Work with vendor sourcing to identify vendors; ensure invoice accuracy and quality of outsourced work. Manage payroll, PO approvals, and invoice reconciliation; reconcile fuel. Execute customer bill-back processes and warranty recovery. Ensure data integrity in the Shop Management Online system. Asset Management: Direct management to maintain appearance and 6S standards; oversee tooling, equipment, and vehicle specifications; manage vehicle in-service/out-service processes; participate in asset management reviews; ensure vehicle specifications in SAM; oversee parts inventory policies. Quality Management: Plan for quality, inspect PM & repairs, review in-process work, maintain visibility of shop floor, lead root-cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement. Ensure safe workplace practices and compliance with safety and environmental regulations; ensure repair quality and proper documentation. Additional Responsibilities

: The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by factors including relevant experience, education, work location, market data, internal equity and ranges. The position may also be eligible for an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentives depending on level/type. Pay ranges: $78K - $80K. Benefits Information:
