Overview
Fleet Maintenance Operations Manager role at Ryder System, Inc. Location: Albuquerque, NM.
Responsibilities
Operations Management: oversight of work analysis, vehicle planning and scheduling, assigning work to technicians, productivity tracking, shift and shop meetings, and RO review/approval. Direct involvement in strategic labor planning by evaluating incoming work, allocating resources, balancing shift schedules, establishing operating hours, and loading workload to maximize efficiency. Optimize labor mix (straight time, OT, outside repair) and shift patterns; oversee Workflow Management process.
Labor Management: provide leadership, training and development to the branch management team; responsible for performance management of all assigned personnel; develop and execute Technical Training Plan; recruit, hire, onboard, payroll, and succession planning.
Customer Management: manage customer relationships, issue resolutions, satisfaction and uptime, and ensure delivery against requirements. Optimize vehicle maintenance cycle time and ensure uptime objectives. Execute Customer Communication Protocol and collaborate with Sales to scope opportunities and develop the Customer Care Plan; conduct customer visits and annual reviews as required.
Financial Management: participate in strategic financial planning, budget forecasts and cost controls for maintenance operations and location P&L. Manage maintenance initiatives to meet financial targets. Work with vendors on sourcing, ensure accuracy of invoices and quality of outsourced work, and manage payroll, PO approvals, invoicing, and fuel reconciliation. Oversee bill back, warranty processes, and data integrity in the Shop Management Online system.
Asset Management: guide management to maintain shops with 6S standards, approve tooling and equipment, manage vehicle specifications and in-service/out-service processes, and oversee parts inventory and asset reviews.
Quality Management: drive quality planning and corrective actions, oversee PM/repair inspections, ensure root cause analysis, implement continuous improvement, maintain safety and EPA compliance, and ensure repair quality and documentation.

Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required
Associate's degree preferred
Four (4) years or more experience in an operations environment or demonstrated success in a Ryder role (required)
Three (3) years or more supervisory experience (required)
Exposure to strategic labor, financial, operating, quality, safety and asset processes and related metrics (required)
Travel 1-10%

Compensation and Benefits The compensation offered may be influenced by factors including experience, education, location, and market data. The position may be eligible for bonus and/or incentives. Minimum and maximum pay ranges are provided below, with benefits including medical, prescription, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan.
Pay Type: Salaried
Minimum Pay Range: $78,000
Maximum Pay Range: $80,000
Benefits: Health and welfare benefits, paid time off, 401(k) with employer match
