RSA is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team. In this role, you’ll create and maintain high-quality documentation for RSA’s suite of software products, with a focus on clarity, usability, and consistency. You'll be the primary owner of our MadCap Flare documentation projects and a key collaborator with product developers, QA, and training staff. Responsibilities include: documentation & content development, software & QA support, project and process management, training & cross functional support. Salary Range $60,000 - $75,000 Must be a US citizen or authorized to work in the United States. If remote, must reside in AL, FL, KS, MA, MI, NC, NY, PA, SC, TN, TX, or WI. Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, Curriculum Development, or Software/Computer Engineering. Society for Technical Communication (STC) certification. Documentation & Content Development Use MadCap Flare to update, edit, and publish technical content, including online help and PDF manuals. Create screenshot markups and simple infographics to enhance clarity and visual appeal. Maintain and revise the RSA Global Standards document and apply standards to all Flare projects. Update and proofread technical documents and customer-facing materials as needed. Software & QA Support Install new versions of RSA software to review features and ensure accurate documentation. Identify development tasks that require documentation updates or inclusion in Customer Release Notes. Report product issues discovered during documentation efforts; write detailed bug reports. Coordinate closely with QA teams to flag or verify functionality-related concerns. Project & Process Management Manage source control activities for Flare projects. Track documentation development and release cycles using Excel-based project management tools. Maintain quarterly documentation planning and tracking spreadsheets. Archive historical documentation for version control and organizational access. Training & Cross-Functional Support Collaborate with the Training Manager to update or revise training content. Assist with the ongoing "Ask The Trainer" initiative to support customer learning needs. Proficiency with MadCap Flare, especially single-sourcing and conditions-based outputs. Exceptional writing and editing skills with an ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly. Strong attention to detail and independent problem-solving ability. Basic working knowledge of HTML and CSS. Experience using Git Bash (command line) for source control. Ability to perform basic Linux command-line tasks. Familiarity with AI tools; ChatGPT, Notion AI, Claude. Rochester Software Associates, Inc.
