Overview
The primary purpose of this position is to develop broad gauged individuals who can deal effectively with change and complexity within the Air Force environment as it relates to their career field. Open to the public; U.S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. Students, Recent graduates eligible under DHA Direct-Hire Authority. Responsibilities
Performs a variety of continuing inventory management tasks requiring analytical judgment, procedural and technical skills. Assists higher graded specialist in developing specific portions of inventory management support projects or analytical and evaluative studies; exchanges factual information with functional specialists, managers, staff, specialists, operating officials; and provides support of other representatives of the organization in matters relating to inventory management work. Uses automated information technology capabilities, such as databases, systems and computer-generated products, to perform continuing routine inventory management duties. Performs special assignments in keeping with the formal training plan. Qualifications and Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Knowledge of principles, methods, and techniques used in inventory management; knowledge of information technology capabilities applied to inventory management; knowledge of inventory management support activities; knowledge of methods used in analytical and evaluative studies of inventory management programs; ability to communicate orally and in writing. Education and Experience:
You may qualify for GS-9 if you meet one of the following: Two years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master’s degree or a master’s degree or one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-07; or A combination of graduate education as described and specialized experience as described that equates to 100% of the requirements. OR At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade; or Other qualifications
include knowledge of inventory management principles, IT capabilities, analytical studies, and communication skills. You will be evaluated on these KSAs. Security and Other Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship required; background investigation or security clearance may be required; travel occasionally; relocation may be required; probationary period of one year. Education and Transcripts
Education must be accredited by a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accrediting agency. You MUST provide transcripts to support your educational claims. If selected, official copies may be required later. For DHA Recent Graduates: Basic eligibility requirements apply. If you qualify based on undergraduate or higher education and have not graduated prior to applying, you may be offered a position contingent on final grades. A 4-year bachelor’s degree and Superior Academic Achievement may be required for some paths.
